Most of the clubs hold their meetings in English, but there are also many Chinese-language clubs, bilingual clubs, and even clubs using other languages. Shanghai Leadership Toastmasters Club is among the oldest clubs in Shanghai, China. Founded in 2006, and operating continuously since then, it is home to several Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) as well as 50+ members from 20+ nationalities. We recently celebrated our 900th meeting and are already looking forward to meeting 1000!
Our meetings are on Wednesday nights at 19:00 near Jing’an Temple. We often invite guest speakers to deliver educational presentations that add to the value of each meeting. There are prepared speeches delivered by members, evaluations with helpful suggestions for improving the speech content and delivery, and even table topics—an impromptu speaking session open to both members and guests.
Our executive committee of Club Officers takes care of the operation of the club, which includes planning and organizing every meeting to ensure consistent high quality. Usually we have 20–60 members and guests attending each meeting. Come join a meeting and experience one of the best Toastmasters clubs in Shanghai in person!
